ENGL 095 Academic Reading and Writing

This course introduces students to reading and writing for academic purposes. Students will explore and use reading strategies to enhance reading comprehension as well as apply critical thinking to interpret and evaluate a variety of texts. Students will review and practice the skills necessary to order to produce several types of essays including summary, descriptive, informative and persuasive. Starting with a focus on the fundamentals of Standard English, the course builds up to and ends with a research paper that includes APA references and citations.
