ENGT 415 Technical Dynamics

5 CR
This course focuses on the study of kinematics, dynamics, and vibrations of particles and rigid bodies, such as mechanical components. Topics include principles of motion of mechanical systems, inertia, work and energy, linear and angular momentum, vibrational analysis, and impact. Emphasis will be placed on 1) kinematic analysis and synthesis of mechanisms, with applications to linkages, cams, and gears, 2) dynamics of reciprocation and rotating machinery, and 3) mechanical vibrations.
Prerequisite(s): ENGT 313  with a C or higher or ENGT 314  with a C or higher, or Instructor permission.
