HSC 038 Wild Plants and Ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest

This course focuses on native and naturalized plants of the Pacific Northwest region and Northwest Coastal Native knowledge, stories, and plant traditions. Through a foundation of “reciprocity,” topics explored include Cultural Ecosystems of Coast Salish Communities, Northwest Regional Plants, Wild Food Traditions, Herbal Apothecary, Plant Technologies, and Tree Communities.
Prerequisite(s): Placement of ASE 1 or higher OR CASAS Reading 239 or higher.
