ENGR& 225 Mechanics of Materials 5 CR Introduction to the concepts of stress, deformation, and strain in solid materials. Includes relationships between loads on structural and machine elements and the stresses, deflection and load-carrying capacity of these elements under tension, compression, torsion, bending, and shear forces. Prerequisite(s): (ENGR& 214 and MATH& 152 with a C or better) or instructor permission.
