MATH& 146 Introduction to Statistics 5 CR Fundamental concepts and basic tools of descriptive and inferential statistics. How to describe data and make reasonable conjectures about the populations from which the samples were taken. Topics include: sampling distribution patterns, organization of data, sampling methods and experimental design, probability and simulation of random events, estimation of population parameters, confidence intervals, correlation, linear regression and basic hypothesis testing. Internet/computer access and graphing calculator required. Prerequisite(s): Accuplacer College Level Math score of 75 or MATH 099 with a C or higher.
