CHEM& 121 Intro to Chemistry 5 CR Introductory course for non-science majors, nursing, and environmental science students. Includes basic concepts of inorganic and organic chemistry, the nature of atoms, molecules and chemical bonds, chemical notation, chemistry of solutions, scientific reasoning, and problem-solving in the study of the theory and application of chemistry. Lab work is included. Prerequisite(s): Fall Quarter 2024 - Accuplacer Reading Comprehension score of 85 or RDG 085 with a B or higher, and Accuplacer Sentence Skills score of 86 or ENGL 092 with a B or higher or AENGL 100 with a C or higher, and Accuplacer College Math score of 75 or MATH 099 with a C or higher.
Starting Winter Quarter 2024 - Placement into ENGL& 101 or completion of ENGL 095 or AENGL 100 with a C or higher, and placement to MATH 107 or completion of MATH 099 with a C or higher.
